Al Iikai

To Whom It May Concern:
Dr. David Miller, from Australia, has been of enormous help establishing my first aid supplies, and providing basic training to my crew.
He arrived from Australia with medical supplies tailored specifically for the type of voyage and planned in consultation – these included, but were not limited to:
- Bandages – both small knuckle type, and large elastic wraps. Included were bandages impregnated with plaster suitable for using as a cast for broken bones.
- Over the counter medications for common ailments you would find on a ship such as sunburn, swimmers ear, eye drops, cortisone cream.
- Medical instruments such as blood pressure monitor, heart rate and blood oxygenation monitor, stethoscope, and thermometer.
- A variety of antibiotics with clear instructions on dosage, and when and for what they should be administered.
- Adrenaline, and scheduled pain killers for immediate hospital level medical intervention if needed.
- Other medications such as Ventolin, heart medications, the “morning after” pill and even anti-psychotic drugs for emergency use.
All supplies were packaged in waterproof containers and clearly labeled. Dr. Miller offered to be available for verbal consult as needed and to advise if any emergency should arise onboard the Al Iikai.
I cannot recommend the service “The Ship’s Doctor” provides highly enough.
Should you need any further information, please feel free to contact me.
